A national insurance law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its expanding Chicago insurance practice. The attorney will advise domestic and international insurers on complex coverage questions and represent clients in significant coverage litigation. The position offers sophisticated work across multiple policy lines, meaningful partner access and the opportunity to develop direct relationships with insurer clients. Required qualifications Two to seven years of insurance coverage or closely related insurance litigation experience Active Illinois Bar admission Strong legal research, analysis and writing skills Experience interpreting insurance policies and evaluating coverage issues Ability to manage multiple matters and communicate clearly with clients Responsibilities Analyze coverage under commercial insurance policies Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters and coverage position letters Advise insurers on exposure, claim strategy and potential bad faith issues Handle declaratory judgment and other coverage litigation in state and federal courts Conduct discovery, depositions and motion practice Work on first party and third party coverage disputes Develop efficient resolution strategies with clients and senior attorneys Coverage experience is preferred. Attorneys with substantial insurance litigation experience and demonstrable policy analysis work will also be considered. $189,000.00 - $270,000.00 per year
