About the Company Alber Firm P.C. is expanding its national footprint into the Greater Boston, Massachusetts region . We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defense attorney to serve as our Regional Managing Partner. This is an opportunity to help lead and grow the firm's Massachusetts criminal-defense practice while continuing to maintain an active legal practice. Alber Firm P.C. provides centralized operational infrastructure, technology, and workflow support so that you can focus on legal work, client representation, practice development, and regional leadership. About the Role This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced Criminal Defense attorney who wants to take an active role in shaping and overseeing a regional practice. The role combines hands-on legal representation with regional leadership, including managing complex matters, mentoring attorneys, and helping establish the firm's presence throughout the Greater Boston market. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, making strategic decisions, and taking ownership of the practice's day-to-day legal operations. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of complex criminal-defense matters from intake through resolution. Represent clients in investigations, arraignments, bail hearings, pretrial conferences, motion practice, plea negotiations, evidentiary hearings, trials, sentencing proceedings, and appeals where applicable. Develop case strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients facing misdemeanor and felony allegations. Independently manage deadlines, court filings, discovery, investigations, expert coordination, witness preparation, and all aspects of case preparation. Provide leadership and oversight for the regional Criminal Defense practice. Collaborate with Alber Firm P.C.'s centralized support team to promote efficient case management and a high standard of client service. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, legal ethics, discretion, and client communication. Help establish and develop the firm's presence throughout the Greater Boston market. Mentor attorneys and legal staff as the regional practice grows. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Massachusetts and in good standing. Significant experience practicing criminal defense. Strong courtroom, trial, negotiation, and litigation experience. Ability to independently manage complex criminal matters from intake through resolution. Strong legal judgment, written and oral advocacy, and client-communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of matters. Leadership skills and the ability to help build and develop a regional practice. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Portable business is not required. Required Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Sound judgment and decision-making. Independent case-management skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Client-focused, discreet, and solutions-oriented approach. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Professionalism, discretion, and sound ethical judgment. Preferred Skills First-chair criminal trial experience. Prior leadership, supervisory, or law-firm management experience. Experience mentoring or developing attorneys and legal staff. Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills. Established relationships within the Greater Boston criminal-defense legal community. Experience as a solo practitioner, managing attorney, or small-firm owner. Experience handling complex felony, white-collar, federal, DUI/OUI, or high-profile criminal matters. Familiarity with Massachusetts District Court, Superior Court, Juvenile Court, and federal criminal practice.
