In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to family law attorneys by managing case files, conducting legal research, preparing documentation, and communicating effectively with clients. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, visitation, and support matters Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, discovery requests, and settlement agreements Work directly with the attorney on active cases, from intake through trial Organize and maintain case files using document management systems like Clio Interview clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather relevant information for cases Manage court filings accurately and timely in compliance with procedural law requirements Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, preparing reports, and handling confidential information with discretion Requirements Proven paralegal experience with a focus on family law or related legal areas Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery materials Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently, work independently and manage deadlines Document review skills with high attention to detail, accuracy, and organization in managing case files and evidence Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining professionalism at all times Proficiency with common law office software and case management systems; strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) Paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field; prior family law experience is a plus Join us if you're passionate about making a difference in families' lives through dedicated legal support!
