Associate Immigration Attorney Overview Busy and established immigration law firm is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join our growing practice. We welcome both experienced attorneys and recent law school graduates who are eager to build a career in immigration law. Prior immigration experience is not required, as training and mentorship will be provided. Our ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative office. The firm handles a wide range of immigration matters, including removal defense, family-based immigration, asylum, humanitarian relief, adjustment of status, waivers, and appeals. Duties Represent clients before USCIS, Immigration Court, and other immigration agencies Appear at master calendar hearings, individual hearings, bond hearings, and USCIS interviews Draft motions, briefs, appeals, pleadings, affidavits, and legal memoranda Prepare and review immigration applications, petitions, and supporting documentation Conduct client consultations and complete new-client intakes Advise clients regarding immigration options, potential risks, and case strategy Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and interviews Conduct legal research involving immigration statutes, regulations, policies, and case law Assist senior attorneys with case preparation and case management Communicate with clients regarding deadlines, required evidence, and case updates Manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, interpreters, and administrative staff Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school Active admission and good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or another U.S. state bar Recent law school graduates and newly admitted attorneys are encouraged to apply No prior immigration law experience is required Prior immigration experience is welcomed but not required Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Ability to work independently and collaboratively Commitment to providing compassionate and effective representation Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, or Cape Verdean Creole is a plus Benefits Health insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid holidays Paid time off Paid sick leave Training and mentorship Professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment
