Whittaker Law, PC, a growing law firm focused on construction, contract, collections, and civil litigation, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Rockville office. This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants substantial hands-on litigation experience and meaningful responsibility from the start . The successful candidate will work directly on active matters and receive immediate exposure to courtroom practice, hearings, motions, discovery, case strategy, and client matters. Success in this role can put the right candidate on a partnership track with the Firm . There is no ceiling on the level of responsibility or professional growth available to an attorney who demonstrates the ability and desire to take it on. We are a tight-knit, high-intensity office on a growth track. The successful candidate must be prepared to hit the ground running while also being receptive to coaching and professional development.

Responsibilities include:

Handling and assisting with civil litigation matters Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents Conducting legal research and preparing written legal analysis Appearing in court for hearings and other proceedings Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel Managing deadlines and multiple active matters Assisting with trial and hearing preparation Taking increasing responsibility for cases as experience and ability develop

Qualifications:

Licensed attorney in good standing; Maryland admission preferred Strong legal research and writing skills Litigation experience or a demonstrated interest in litigation Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Dedication, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic Willingness to work approximately 60 hours per week , including some weekend work when matters require it We are looking for an attorney who believes the quality of their work is a reflection of themselves and who is interested in building a career with the Firm rather than simply filling a position .
