Full-Time About the Position A well-established law firm in Southfield, Michigan is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience to join their team. The ideal Attorney candidate will have strong litigation skills and the ability to independently manage matters while working collaboratively with attorneys and staff. This position offers the opportunity to handle a diverse range of general and complex litigation matters , including real estate, shareholder/member disputes, employment, probate, and corporate/business disputes. Responsibilities The Associate Attorney will be responsible for a broad range of litigation and case-management duties, including: Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents. Conducting comprehensive legal research and preparing research memoranda. Taking and defending depositions. Preparing for and appearing at court hearings and other proceedings. Developing a thorough understanding of case facts, legal issues, and file history. Communicating directly with firm clients and providing updates regarding case status and strategy. Communicating professionally with opposing counsel, court staff, and other parties. Assisting with the development and implementation of litigation strategies. Evaluating legal and factual issues and identifying potential risks and opportunities. Managing multiple matters and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Working closely with senior attorneys and other members of the firm to effectively represent clients. Qualifications (J.D.) from an accredited law school. At least 5 years of litigation experience. Admission to the State Bar of Michigan and good standing. Strong experience with legal research, writing, and analysis. Excellent oral advocacy and presentation skills. Experience handling depositions and court hearings. Strong interpersonal and client-relationship skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines. Sound judgment, professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to client service.
