Job Description

Litigation Partner - White Collar at BCL Legal Litigation Partner - White Collar at BCL Legal in Long Island City, New York Posted in 3 days ago.
Type:
full-time
Job Description:
Our client - a full-service, Am Law 100 firm with revenues in excess of $700 million and a footprint of roughly 30-plus offices across North America and Europe - is seeking an established White Collar Defense & Investigations partner to join its New York office. This is a genuine equity-track opportunity for a partner who can bring a portable book of $750,000-$2,000,000. The firm has a recent, public track record of investing in lateral partner hires for this practice, and equity partnership is on offer for the right candidate rather than a fixed multi-year non-equity holding period. Why?
Nationally recognised group:
the firm's White Collar Defense & Investigations practice has been named to Global Investigation Review's GIR 100 - the industry's benchmark list of the world's leading investigations practices - in multiple consecutive years, and individual partners are independently ranked by Chambers USA for White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations.
Deep bench of government experience:
the team is deliberately built around lawyers who have sat on both sides of the aisle, including several former U.S. federal and state prosecutors and a former federal public defender, with backgrounds spanning the Department of Justice, the SEC, and other federal and state enforcement bodies.
Broad-based mandate:
the group advises individuals, public and private companies, boards and special committees across internal investigations, compliance, and government-facing enforcement work, including FCPA, antitrust, securities and financial services matters. High-profile, credential-building work: attorneys in the group have been engaged on matters that have drawn national media coverage, and are regularly sought out by outlets such as Reuters, the Wall Street Journal, NBC News and Law360 to comment on enforcement trends and high-profile prosecutions - a strong platform for a partner looking to build external visibility.
A firm-wide litigation platform:
White Collar sits alongside a substantial Commercial Litigation department, giving partners room to cross-refer complex civil matters that often run alongside government investigations. New York base in the financial district, with direct connectivity into the firm's Washington, D.C. white collar leadership and its wider East Coast office network. The Role Originate and lead white collar defense, government investigation, and internal investigation mandates for corporate and individual clients. Represent clients before federal and state prosecutors, and regulators including the DOJ and SEC, at all stages from investigation through trial, sentencing and appeal where relevant. Advise boards and special committees on internal investigations and compliance remediation. Contribute to and help grow an already well-regarded practice group, working alongside partners with prosecutorial and defense-side pedigree. Act as a credible, visible spokesperson for the practice - with media and thought-leadership platforms already in place for the group. Candidate Profile Currently practising as a partner (or senior counsel with a clear partnership case) in white collar defense, government investigations, or a closely related litigation discipline. Portable book of business of $750,000-$2,000,000, with a client base that would travel. Prior experience as a federal or state prosecutor, DOJ/SEC attorney, or comparable government enforcement background is highly valued, though not mandatory. Admitted to practice in New York (or eligible for prompt admission); active federal court admissions (e.g.
SDNY/EDNY
) preferred. A track record of trial, sentencing, or high-stakes negotiated resolution work that would stand up to Chambers/Legal 500-style scrutiny. Compensation & Package Equity partnership on offer, commensurate with book of business and experience - this is not a fixed non-equity-only track. Compensation structured around originations and business generation, in line with Am Law 100 partner compensation norms. Full relocation support is not anticipated to be required given the New York base, but flexibility exists for the right candidate.
