Job Description

Description Assistant General Counsel - Construction Seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to provide legal support for major construction projects, with a focus on high-rise commercial, residential, and hospitality developments. Key Responsibilities

+ Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and subcontracts.

+ Identify project risks and provide legal guidance on risk mitigation and project pursuits.

+ Advise commercial and operations teams on business and contractual matters.

+ Lead contract negotiations with clients and other project stakeholders.

+ Manage and oversee external counsel on litigation, claims, and dispute resolution matters.

+ Partner with HR, insurance, commercial, and operations teams on contract and risk-related issues.

+ Protect organizational interests while minimizing legal exposure and liability.

+ Provide practical, business-focused legal advice and support on a variety of construction matters. Requirements Qualifications

+ J.D. from an accredited law school.

+ Admission to the New York State Bar. + 10+ years of experience practicing construction law, including contract drafting/negotiation, claims, and litigation. + 4+ years of leadership experience preferred.

+ Strong experience with building construction, preferably with a large general contractor.

+ Experience with high-rise residential and/or hospitality projects preferred.

+ Knowledge of construction insurance, coverage, and claims preferred.

+ Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business and project teams.

+ Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
