Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team. Responsibilities Represent clients in criminal cases, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and appeals, ensuring their rights are protected at every stage. Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to build compelling defense strategies based on procedural law knowledge and statutory research. Prepare and file legal motions, draft comprehensive legal documents, and develop case strategies aligned with best practices in criminal litigation. Engage in client consultations to gather case details, explain legal options clearly, and maintain open communication throughout the legal process. Negotiate plea agreements, and prepare for trial by organizing evidence and coordinating with witnesses. Stay current on developments in criminal law, including updates in federal, state, and emerging legal trends affecting defense strategies. Experience Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar are required. 1-2 years experience practicing criminal law. Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw is essential for effective case preparation. Strong negotiation skills with experience in plea bargaining or settlement discussions. Knowledge of procedural law, statutory research methods, and legal drafting techniques necessary for effective case management. Previous law office experience involving client communication, legal motion preparation, and litigation support will be highly valued. $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
