Job Description

Managing Attorney & Director of Title Operations We are seeking an experienced attorney to lead and oversee our real estate title services division. This position will manage title examination, commitment preparation, underwriting review, title clearance, policy issuance, closing support, post-closing processes, staff supervision, quality control, client service, and risk management. The Director will serve as the department's senior legal and operational resource, resolving complex title matters and ensuring that files are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable law, underwriting requirements, company policies, and industry standards. The position will supervise and develop department personnel, improve workflows, support key client relationships, assist with claims prevention, and collaborate with company leadership on department performance and growth. The ideal candidate is a licensed attorney with substantial real estate title, title insurance, real estate closing, underwriting, or related experience. The candidate should possess strong legal judgment, leadership ability, organizational skills, communication skills, and a practical understanding of title operations.
Primary duties include:
Oversee daily title department operations and production. Review and resolve complex title and ownership issues. Approve title commitments, exceptions, endorsements, and policy matters within delegated authority. Supervise, train, and evaluate title department personnel. Establish quality-control, compliance, and claims-prevention procedures. Monitor turnaround times, workload, service levels, and department performance. Support lenders, real estate professionals, and other clients. Coordinate with underwriters and outside counsel on complex or high-risk matters.
