Apply Now Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Senior Attorney, Commercial Contracts. The Senior Attorney will play a pivotal role in spearheading the review and leadership of intricate commercial agreements that are vital to both our customers and suppliers. This esteemed position is at the forefront of offering premier legal support to Eaton's Electrical/Industrial Sectors and the Global Supply Chain organization. The Senior Attorney will assume the crucial responsibility of imparting sound, practical legal advice on contractual and commercial risks, thereby guiding our diverse business ventures. This position can be based out of any Eaton site within the continental US with hybrid work available. The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you'll do: This pivotal role involves leading the negotiation and execution of complex contracts, meticulously reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting terms and conditions to identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks. The Senior Attorney will ensure all contractual terms are comprehensively addressed by the appropriate functions—credit, engineering, finance, operations, product management, risk management, supply chain, etc.—and approved in accordance with corporate policies. Collaboration is key; therefore, the candidate will work closely with various departments, including Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Credit, Sales, Trade Compliance, and other Specialty Practice Groups within the Law Team. As a trusted advisor, the Senior Attorney will guide the organization in enterprise risk management, process optimization, and the adoption of new technologies to streamline legal services. What will make you successful? You will be successful in this role by bringing a proven track record of efficiently and effectively negotiating sell‑side contracts while navigating a wide range of commercial and legal risks across diverse markets and industries. The ability to tailor legal advice and contractual solutions to the unique risk profiles of Eaton's various end markets and business segments will be critical. Strong problem‑solving skills, combined with the ability to clearly visualize and communicate practical solutions, will enable you to address complex issues with confidence. Success also requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational capabilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—along with the ability to adapt messaging for internal and external stakeholders—will support effective collaboration. Building strong relationships at all organizational levels, working collaboratively across differing perspectives, and contributing positively within a team environment will further drive the success of both the role and the broader organization.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications- Juris Doctor (J.D.) required and a license to practice in one of 50 U.S. States.
- Minimum of 7 years' work experience as an actively licensed attorney.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Arden NC, Beachwood OH, Davenport IA, Moon Township PA, Raleigh NC or Waukesha WI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
