Roswell Park is seeking an Assistant or Associate General Counsel to work in the General Counsel and Compliance Department, reporting to the Assistant Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. This position will work closely with Roswell Park's Clinical Trials Office and scientific shared resources, including scientific faculty and operations staff, to primarily support Roswell Park's research mission and advance scientific innovation. The Assistant/Associate General Counsel is responsible for reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, which may include: (i) research-related agreements (clinical trial, subsite/subaward, collaborative research, and sponsored research agreements), (ii) production and manufacturing agreements (for the manufacture/production of investigational cellular therapy products and intermediates, viral and non-viral vectors, and other related products), (iii) research-related service agreements and procurement contracts (equipment, reagents, supplies, software, and materials used in production/manufacturing); and (v) technology transfer (license agreements), commercial collaborations, and other agreements having significant intellectual property implications.What You'll Do:
The Assistant/Associate General Counsel will assist with other legal matters as needed to support the clinical and research missions of Roswell Park, which matters may include providing regulatory guidance, contract interpretation, and other legal support as requested. The Assistant/Associate General Counsel will interface with management of various clinical, research, and administrative departments and provide timely legal guidance to facilitate Roswell Park objectives and support operations while minimizing potential legal risk and exposure.What You'll Bring:
Must develop and maintain knowledge of relevant FDA regulations, research subject protection regulations, New York laws applicable to public entities and hospitals, and general health and privacy laws to support legal practice. At least four (4) years of full-time responsible private practice or in-house legal experience required.
