Job Description
Overview Boutique litigation firm seeks junior associate attorney. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in litigation, with a strong preference for intellectual property litigation. This interest should be demonstrated through prior employment history or prior coursework. The selected candidate will report to the managing attorney in Skokie for the initial 90 days of employment and will work side-by-side with the managing attorney during that time. After successfully completing the 90-day initial period, this role will be hybrid, with remote work being permitted most days except as required by court schedules or firm needs. The firm maintains office space in Chicago and Glen Ellyn that will also be available as a work location after the additional 90-day period, if preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, professional presentation, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Firm will accept for consideration candidates who are either admitted to the Illinois bar or are awaiting bar results from Illinois. Additional licensure in California strongly preferred. Duties Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and statutory interpretation. Draft and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Prepare discovery requests and review responses and documents received. Represent clients in court appearances in state and federal court, including status dates, motion hearings, and trial. Participate in client meetings and business development calls to gather facts and provide support under supervision.
