Idaho Power - located in vibrant Boise, Idaho - is looking for an Associate Counsel or Corporate Counsel to join our Legal team. It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we're working hard to safely provide our customers with the reliable, affordable, clean energy they depend on. While this position is based at Idaho Power's downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote, once the initial in-person training period has been completed. Relocation assistance may also be provided to the successful candidate. What does an Associate Counsel or Corporate Counsel on the Litigation team do for us? They support the company by providing legal advice and support on a variety of legal issues relating to Idaho Power's business and operations. This includes proactively identifying and mitigating potential risk before it escalates to formal litigation, advising business units on legal risk, conducting investigations into matters that may result in claims against the company, and supporting the management of litigation, administrative proceedings, and dispute resolution. The role also serves as a legal advisor to the Human Resources department and provides legal support to other business units as needed. A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Knowledge:

+ Working knowledge of every phase of civil litigation

+ General knowledge of administrative law and processes

+ General knowledge of legal risk mitigation in a corporate environment

+ Knowledge of employment law, workplace investigations, and employee issues, or a demonstrated interest and ability to develop expertise in these areas
