Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Litigation Attorney to support healthcare-related disputes for clients in Los Angeles, California. This Long-term Contract position offers a remote schedule and focuses on representing hospitals, health plans, and other healthcare organizations in reimbursement and payment matters. The attorney in this role will handle active litigation work with a high degree of independence while partnering closely with leadership on legal strategy and client guidance.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead healthcare litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution, managing deadlines, filings, and overall case progress with limited direction.
  • Advocate for hospitals, health plans, and related healthcare entities in disputes involving reimbursement, payment issues, and payer-provider conflicts.
  • Perform in-depth legal analysis and prepare persuasive motions, briefs, pleadings, memoranda, and other court-facing documents.
  • Work alongside senior legal leadership to shape litigation strategy, evaluate risks, and provide thoughtful recommendations to clients.
  • Counsel clients on healthcare law issues tied to compliance, reimbursement structures, and operational legal concerns.
  • Address matters involving privacy and security of health information, managed care issues, and contractual disputes involving providers and vendors.
  • Support legal work connected to healthcare transactions and other complex matters affecting regulated healthcare organizations. Requirements
  • Active license to practice law in California is required.
  • Demonstrated background in litigation, with the ability to manage matters independently.
  • Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and persuasive writing skills.
  • Experience drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, and related litigation documents.
  • Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including discovery and case development.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively while also handling assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Prior healthcare industry experience is welcomed but not required.
