Job Description

Experience:
Mid Level Salary:
$205,000 - $250,000 per year Job Details -
What They're Looking For:
3+ years of commercial litigation experience Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Excellent academic credentials, including either: J.D. from a Top 14 law school with a minimum 3.2 GPA, or Top 10% of the class from a Top 50 law school Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to thrive in a collegial but fast-paced environment Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to take meaningful responsibility for matters A bit about us: - A highly respected midsize Chicago law firm is looking to add a Commercial Litigation Associate with 1-3 years of experience to its growing litigation team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants the sophistication, clients, and resources of a large firm without getting lost in a massive team. The firm represents clients ranging from privately held businesses to Fortune 100 companies in significant disputes in state and federal courts across the country. Cases are intentionally staffed lean — typically one principal and one or two associates — giving junior attorneys direct access to experienced litigators, meaningful client contact, and the opportunity to take real ownership of matters early in their careers. The stability of the group speaks for itself: average attorney tenure within the litigation practice exceeds 15 years. Why join us? - The firm has spent more than 50 years building a platform that combines sophisticated legal work with a genuinely collegial environment. Associates work closely with principals on a one-on-one basis, rather than being one of several junior attorneys on an oversized team. That means earlier opportunities to manage cases, work directly with clients, negotiate with opposing counsel, and develop the practical skills needed to become a well-rounded litigator. The firm places a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional development, with continuous training, direct feedback, and opportunities for associates to develop their own areas of expertise. You'll get high-level work and clients with the culture, accessibility, and career development of a midsize firm.
