Contract Attorney - Probate / Guardianship / Conservatorship (Hybrid) Law Office of Julie Low Beverly, MA Job Details Contract From $75 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Work from home Qualifications Estate administration Management U.S. District Court experience Writing skills Managing legal teams U.S. Patent and Trademark Office experience U.S. Supreme Court experience Probate process support Leading team collaboration initiatives Bar Delegation U.S. Court of Appeals experience Wills, trusts & estate law Full Job Description Law Office of Julie Low is seeking a contract attorney to handle our Probate Court matters, including probate of estates, guardianships, and conservatorships, as well as contested litigation arising in these matters. We are looking for a true "rock star"-someone who is highly organized, responsive, and proactive, and who can drive workflow efficiency by effectively managing paralegals and day-to-day case movement. This is a hybrid role with work-from-home flexibility and in-office time when necessary (e.g., client meetings, court, hearings, key case events). Responsibilities Independently manage a caseload of Massachusetts Probate Court matters, including: Probate of estates (formal and informal) Guardianship matters Conservatorship matters Contested litigation related to the above (as applicable) Draft, review, and file pleadings, petitions, motions, affidavits, proposed orders, and related court documents. Manage matter progression from intake through closing, including calendaring, deadlines, and next steps. Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, court personnel, medical providers, and other stakeholders as required. Prepare for and attend hearings, conferences, and other court events (in person and/or remote as required). Supervise and coordinate paralegal support, including: Delegation of tasks Monitoring throughput and deadlines Implementing systems and checklists to improve consistency and efficiency Ensuring files are complete, accurate, and hearing-ready Qualifications Licensed attorney in Massachusetts (active and in good standing). 1-3 years of experience handling probate of estates, guardianship, and/or conservatorship matters. Strong drafting skills and comfort handling cases with minimal supervision. Excellent organization, judgment, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines. Ability to lead workflow and coordinate support staff in a collaborative, respectful manner. Preferred Qualifications Experience with contested probate/guardianship/conservatorship litigation. Prior experience appearing in Massachusetts Probate Court (in person and/or virtual). Experience improving internal processes (templates, checklists, workflows). Client-centered communication style and ability to explain complex issues clearly.
