Confidential Employment Associate Opportunity Portland, ME or Concord, NH | Hybrid A well-established and highly respected New England law firm is seeking an Employment Associate to join its dynamic and growing Employment Law Practice Group. The position can be based in either the firm's Portland, Maine or Concord, New Hampshire office and offers a hybrid work environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work directly with sophisticated regional and national clients on a combination of employment counseling and litigation matters . The Opportunity The Employment Law Practice Group has decades of experience serving as trusted advisors to employers throughout New England. The team advises clients on employment law compliance, workplace best practices, and evolving regulatory requirements, while also handling complex employment litigation. The group regularly represents employers in matters involving: Discrimination and harassment Retaliation and hostile work environment claims Wrongful termination Trade secret and confidential information disputes Restrictive covenants Employment-related business disputes Other state and federal employment litigation Administrative agency matters Associates receive a high level of client interaction and meaningful involvement in all aspects of case work . The firm places a strong emphasis on professional development and provides Associates with early and frequent exposure to sophisticated and challenging legal matters. Responsibilities Advise and counsel employer clients on a variety of employment law matters Assist with employment litigation from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other legal documents Conduct legal research and analysis Participate in client communications and case strategy Assist with hearings, depositions, and other proceedings Manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Collaborate with attorneys across the Employment Law Practice Group and broader firm Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Active bar membership, or anticipated admission, in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to effectively manage multiple matters and deadlines Preferred Experience Employer-side employment litigation experience Public employer or labor experience Experience advising employers on employment-related issues Why Consider This Opportunity?
