We are looking for someone who combines strong technical estate planning skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships, generate business, and serve as a trusted advisor to individuals and families. Position Overview The ideal candidate will have at least five years of estate planning experience and an existing book of business, referral network, or demonstrated independent demand generation capability. This attorney will play a central role in building and expanding the firm's estate planning and related wealth preservation services. This is not merely an associate role. We are seeking a long-term strategic contributor who can help shape the direction, reputation, and growth of the practice.
Responsibilities Draft and advise on:
Revocable and irrevocable trusts Wills and powers of attorney Advanced estate and tax planning strategies Business succession planning Asset protection structures Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and professionals Build and maintain referral relationships with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals Develop and grow a sustainable estate planning client base Collaborate with the firm on cross-practice opportunities involving family law, business law, and related matters Help establish systems, processes, and strategic direction for the estate planning practice group Mentor future attorneys and staff as the practice expands Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Licensed and in good standing in Illinois Minimum 5 years of substantive estate planning experience Strong drafting and client counseling skills Some existing portable business, referral network, or demonstrated ability to independently generate client demand Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping grow a practice group Experience with sophisticated estate planning strategies is strongly preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation structure Origination and business development incentives Flexible structure depending on experience and portable business Leadership and growth opportunities within the firm Supportive and entrepreneurial environment To Apply Please submit: Resume Brief description of relevant experience Optional summary of existing practice, referral relationships, or business development background Applications and inquiries will be handled confidentially.
