Job Description

About the
Firm:
Tierney Law Group is an established Family Law, Real Estate, and Civil Litigation firm based in Pleasanton, California. We are a diverse, collegial, and collaborative team dedicated to providing the highest quality legal representation to our clients, while making sure our attorneys and staff genuinely enjoy their work — and their lives outside of it. About the
Position:
We are looking for an experienced Family Law Litigation Paralegal to support our attorneys on a full caseload of dissolution, custody, support, and property division matters from filing through trial. This is a primarily remote position — you'll work from home day-to-day, with occasional visits to our Pleasanton office for team check-ins, case strategy sessions, and client or court needs. We're looking for someone with real family law litigation experience who can hit the ground running and manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do:
Draft and prepare pleadings, declarations, discovery requests and responses, and other family law litigation documents for attorney review. Manage e-filing across California Superior Courts, including Green Filing and CM/ECF, and track filing confirmations and rejections. Own the case calendar — filing deadlines, hearings, mediations, and conferences — and proactively flag upcoming deadlines to the attorney team. Prepare and track Proofs of Service, discovery logs, and case chronologies. Conduct conflict checks and assist with new client intake and engagement documentation. Organize and maintain case files and document production using our document management systems. Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including exhibit organization and binders. Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff on scheduling and procedural matters.
Preferred Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate or equivalent formal training. Experience with Clio, PACER, California Courts e-filing portals, and One Drive. Familiarity with complex property division, custody evaluations, or support calculations (XSpouse).
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of law firm experience, with substantial family law litigation experience supporting one or more attorneys. Strong working knowledge of California Civil Procedure and California Superior Court filing requirements and local rules. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and the Microsoft 365 suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines independently in a remote setting. Proactive, sound judgment, and a collaborative, professional team orientation. Flexibility to work overtime, if needed.
Job Type & Location :
Full Time - Monday through Friday. Remote, with occasional in-person time at our Pleasanton office for team check-ins and as case needs require.
Benefits :
Health insurance; defined benefit retirement plan; primarily remote work schedule; Collegial, supportive firm culture that values work-life balance. Salary commensurate with experience.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover note describing your family law litigation experience. We look forward to hearing from you.
