The position provides hands-on involvement in divorce, paternity, child support, timesharing, modification, and enforcement matters. Our paralegals are important members of the legal team, but they are not expected to manage cases alone. Each paralegal works closely with an attorney who remains actively involved in case strategy, client communication, drafting, and case preparation. Other paralegals and staff members are also available to assist when workloads or deadlines require additional support. Key Responsibilities Draft and file pleadings and other legal documents, including petitions, answers, motions, discovery requests, notices, proposed final judgments, and settlement documents Assist attorneys with preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials Coordinate discovery, including gathering, reviewing, organizing, and summarizing financial and personal records Maintain accurate case files, calendars, deadlines, and task lists Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients Communicate with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, and other professionals Work closely with the assigned attorney to manage cases from intake through resolution Assist with telephone coverage and scheduling when needed Qualifications At least one to two years of family law paralegal experience is required Familiarity with Florida family law procedures and court filing requirements Strong legal drafting, proofreading, calendaring, and organizational skills Careful attention to detail Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines Ability to work independently while also collaborating with attorneys and support staff Professional and empathetic communication skills Experience with legal case-management software, such as PracticePanther, Clio, or MyCase, is a plus Paralegal certification is preferred but not required Spanish fluency is preferred but not required Why Join Hardwick & Krauss?
