Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Florida Family Law Attorney with 3-5 years of family law experience to join our legal team. This position is ideal for an attorney who is comfortable independently managing a family law caseload while providing practical, strategic, and responsive representation to clients. The attorney will handle matters involving divorce, parental responsibility and timesharing, child support, alimony, paternity, modifications, enforcement, and other family law matters. The successful candidate should be confident handling cases from initial consultation through resolution, including discovery, depositions, mediation, motion practice, evidentiary hearings, and trial preparation. We are looking for an attorney with sound judgment, strong written and oral advocacy skills, and the ability to effectively manage both the legal and client-service aspects of a family law practice. Responsibilities Independently manage a caseload of Florida family law matters from intake through resolution. Represent clients in divorce, parental responsibility and timesharing, child support, alimony, paternity, modification, enforcement, and related family law proceedings. Attend and conduct hearings, depositions, mediations, case management conferences, and other court proceedings. Draft and/or review pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, financial affidavits, settlement agreements, proposed orders, memoranda, and other legal documents. Develop case strategies based on the facts, applicable Florida law, client objectives, and practical considerations. Conduct legal research using LexisNexis and Harvey AI, or comparable legal research platforms. Handle discovery, including document review, interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas, and deposition preparation. Prepare clients and cases for mediation, evidentiary hearings, and trial. Negotiate settlements and work toward practical resolutions while protecting clients' legal and financial interests. Communicate directly and regularly with clients regarding case strategy, expectations, deadlines, procedural developments, and available options. Maintain organized case files, calendars, deadlines, billing entries, and case-management records. Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other members of the firm. Qualifications & Experience Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar. 3-5 years of substantive experience practicing family law , preferably in Florida. Demonstrated ability to independently manage family law matters and maintain responsibility for deadlines and case progression. Experience handling divorce, child custody/timesharing, child support, alimony, paternity, modification, and enforcement matters. Experience appearing in court and handling hearings, mediations, depositions, and other litigation proceedings. Strong knowledge of Florida family law statutes, procedural requirements, and applicable court rules. Strong legal research, analytical, and case-strategy skills. Excellent legal writing skills with experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement documents, and proposed orders. Strong negotiation and oral advocacy skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients during emotionally difficult and high-conflict matters. Ability to prioritize deadlines and efficiently manage multiple active cases.
