Calling all former Federal Prosecuters, experienced Litigators, and determined Attorneys! Our firm is seeking an experienced litigation Attorney to join us in our Fort Lauderdale office assisting domestic and international clients with their Defense Base Act cases, a form of federal Workers' Compensation. Learn more about us at www.joannhoffman.com. Please read requirements before applying. This position is a great fit an experienced attorney who has (claimant or defense side) or civil litigation. In this position you will work as part of a team advocating for domestic and international clients with Defense Base Act claims with primary responsibility for your assigned caseload. Depending on each case's needs, typical casework includes claimant depositions, vocational assessments, discovery, medical evaluations, time billing, and drafting pleadings. Candidates must be admitted and be a practicing attorney. Training provided for candidates who may not have experience in this specialty but has experience in other practice. Requirements Admitted in Florida in good standing and licensed to practice law (sworn in) Must have 3+ years practice as an attorney; preferably in a practice that included medical documents, depositons, and client communication Injury experience Very organized Strong computer technical skills to stay organized in a paperless office environment Good communication with clients Litigation experience- seeing cases from intake to settlement or trial Job Benefits Full Time Competitive salary (pay commensurate on experience) Health, Dental and Vision Insurance Paid Holidays Paid Vacation 401k Matching Opportunity to learn, grow and work with a great group of people Attorneys' compensation to be determined based on experience.
