We are a small but hard-working team that is growing quickly, and this position offers a unique opportunity for an attorney early in their career to play an important role in the development of a fast-growing law firm. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes ownership of their work, cares deeply about clients, and wants to grow alongside the firm. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of legal experience. Prior personal injury experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right attorney who has strong writing, communication, organizational, and analytical skills and a genuine interest in representing injured people. The Associate Attorney will work closely with the firm's attorneys and case management team and will have meaningful responsibility for managing cases from intake through resolution. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from initial evaluation through settlement or litigation. Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates, answering questions, and helping clients understand their legal options and the status of their cases. Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, medical records, and other evidence relevant to personal injury claims. Conduct legal research and apply South Carolina law to case-specific issues. Draft demand letters, pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, settlement documents, and other legal documents. Review and analyze medical records, bills, wage-loss documentation, photographs, police reports, and other evidence. Assist with and, as experience develops, take responsibility for depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation activities. Negotiate with insurance companies and defense counsel regarding settlements and case resolution. Assist with trial preparation, including discovery, witness preparation, exhibits, evidence, and case strategy. Work collaboratively with case managers and other members of the firm's team to move cases efficiently toward resolution. Maintain accurate and timely case information using Filevine, the firm's case management system. Review and manage new leads and potential cases using LeadDocket, the firm's lead and intake management software. Maintain organized case files and meet deadlines and case-management expectations. Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute ideas as the firm continues to grow. Represent the firm professionally and provide clients with a high level of service throughout their cases. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in South Carolina, or eligible for South Carolina admission. 1-5 years of legal experience . Personal injury experience is a plus, but not required. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, insurance representatives, and colleagues. A willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting as the firm grows. Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis is preferred. Experience withFilevine, LeadDocket, or other legal case-management/intake systems is a plus, but training will be provided.
