A growing litigation practice is seeking a motivated and experienced Medical Malpractice & Civil Litigation Defense Attorney to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to represent healthcare providers, hospitals, medical practices, insurance carriers, and corporate clients in complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong courtroom presence, excellent writing skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities Manage all phases of medical malpractice and civil defense litigation from inception through trial and appeal. Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, medical experts, and treating providers. Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings. Develop litigation strategies, evaluate case exposure, and provide risk assessment recommendations. Collaborate with clients, insurance representatives, expert witnesses, and legal support staff to achieve favorable outcomes. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license and good standing with the State Bar. 3+ years of experience in medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, or civil litigation. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and court appearances independently. Ability to manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
