GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and consult with Solicitors and Law Enforcement to implement criminal case management practices that are solution driven and goal oriented. The Investigator is responsible for gathering evidence, statements, medical records, and any other information related to cases, including follow-up investigations. They serve subpoenas, direct indictments, and motions to all parties involved and prepare for cases by communicating with law enforcement agencies, SLED, and forensic labs. The Investigator handles witness and victim lineups for court sessions and travels as needed to gather evidence, deliver paperwork, or speak with inmates.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Conducts case intake. Collects case materials. Reviews criminal cases. Provides consulting and case preparation. Provides subpoena service. Interviews witnesses and victims. Liaisons between law enforcement and the Solicitor's office. Gathers information about cases, including reading and analyzing reports, paperwork, evidence, and witness information. Communicates with law enforcement agencies, forensic labs, and other parties involved in cases. Makes follow-up phone calls and communicates with all parties involved in cases. Delivers paperwork such as motions, subpoenas, and indictments. Handles witness and victim lineups for court sessions. Travels to gather evidence, deliver paperwork, or speak with inmates at state facilities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
