The attorney will assist with a variety of criminal defense matters in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is comfortable working with clients, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and appearing in court. We are looking for an attorney who is professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of handling cases with increasing independence while working closely with the firm's lead attorney and legal staff.

Responsibilities:

Represent clients in criminal defense matters in state and federal court. Attend hearings, arraignments, status conferences, and other court proceedings. Meet and communicate with clients regarding their cases. Conduct legal research Draft motions, pleadings, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents. Review discovery and assist with case preparation. Communicate with prosecutors, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties. Assist with negotiations, plea discussions, and case strategy. Maintain organized and accurate case files and meet court deadlines. Handle assigned matters professionally and ethically.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines. Professional demeanor and strong client-service skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Criminal defense or courtroom experience is preferred but not required.
