Personal Injury Attorney! Do you want to help people put their lives back together after their lives have been turned upside down by a commercial truck wreck or MVC? We are an entrepreneurial Criminal Defense & Personal Injury firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we need an experienced attorney to join our team and work directly with the owners to support the team and help our clients. We want to be known for helping our clients go from setback to comeback with a team behind them that really cared and fought for them. We are growing fast, and we need an attorney who can hit the ground running. This position will be responsible for important work, including: Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from initial intake through settlement, litigation, and trial. Handle automobile collisions, commercial vehicle and 18-wheeler crashes, premises liability matters, and other serious injury cases. Conduct initial client consultations and evaluate potential cases for liability, damages, insurance coverage, and overall case value. Maintain regular communication with clients and provide timely updates regarding the status of their cases. Investigate claims, including reviewing crash reports, photographs, video evidence, medical records, witness statements, insurance policies, and other relevant evidence. Identify all potentially responsible parties and available sources of insurance coverage. Draft and send preservation letters, representation letters, records requests, and other pre-suit correspondence. Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure medical records, billing records, liens, and other damages documentation are obtained and properly maintained. Review medical records and develop a thorough understanding of clients' injuries, treatment, prognosis, and future medical needs. Evaluate settlement offers and counsel clients regarding settlement recommendations and litigation strategy. Draft petitions, motions, discovery requests, discovery responses, disclosures, and other litigation documents. Conduct written discovery and analyze discovery responses produced by defendants. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, treating physicians, and experts. Attend hearings, mediations, inspections, and other court proceedings. Research and brief Texas personal injury, insurance, evidentiary, and procedural issues. Identify and work with appropriate expert witnesses, including medical, accident reconstruction, trucking, vocational, economic, and life-care-planning experts when necessary. Develop case strategy and liability theories for contested and high-value cases. Prepare cases for mediation and trial, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, motions in limine, deposition designations, and trial briefs. Assist with and, depending on experience, serve as lead or second-chair counsel at jury trials. Monitor statutes of limitation, discovery deadlines, court orders, scheduling orders, and other critical case deadlines. Maintain complete and accurate case files and document case activity in the firm's case-management system. Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to paralegals and support staff while maintaining responsibility for the overall progression of assigned cases. Work collaboratively with the firm's owner's on catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex commercial vehicle cases. Maintain professional relationships with clients, opposing counsel, courts, medical providers, experts, and other professionals. Comply with the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and all applicable court rules and ethical obligations. Participate in firm meetings, case reviews, training, and professional development. Assist with client development and community outreach when appropriate. Perform other attorney duties necessary to provide exceptional representation to the firm's personal injury clients We love to help people learn and grow. But we don't have the time for that right now. We need an attorney with experience in Personal Injury law. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand holding by their managing attorney. This is a full-time job where you are expected to be able to manage a caseload in a fast-paced environment. This job is in-office for 40 hours per week. During the first 90 days of employment, the pay will be a $100,000.00. There is an opportunity for bonus compensation for those who can demonstrate their profitability.
