A Lawyer represents clients in legal matters or court proceedings, provides legal advice and draws up legal documents. Works on criminal or civil cases, and either specializes in one area or practices broadly across all areas of law.

The purpose of this position is to technical and professional work as legal advisor to the City Commission, City Manager and department directors on assigned issues of applicable local, State and Federal laws, regulations and ordinances affecting the City with an emphasis on laws, rules and regulations that pertain to Class C misdemeanors. This job works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. McAllen is one of the fastest growing cities in America with a population alone close to 148,000.
