This is not simply a position for an attorney who knows how to appear in court and work a criminal docket. Compensation and benefits may include:

Competitive base salary of $125,000 to $175,000 annually, based upon experience, qualifications, courtroom ability, and trial experience. The Position The attorney will represent clients in criminal and juvenile matters throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, with the majority of the firm's cases currently pending in Collin County and Denton County. This is a full time attorney position that is not remote , requiring substantial client interaction, courtroom responsibility, and ownership of assigned matters from case assignment through final disposition. The attorney will independently manage a caseload while collaborating with our attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and leadership team. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of four (4) years of meaningful criminal defense experience. Active Texas law license in good standing. Substantial experience handling Texas misdemeanor and felony criminal matters. Demonstrated ability to independently manage criminal dockets and court appearances. Experience negotiating cases with prosecutors and advising clients regarding plea offers, litigation strategy, and trial decisions. Strong working knowledge of Texas criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence, constitutional law, and courtroom practice. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Exceptional organizational, case management, and deadline management abilities. Excellent client communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to responsiveness. Ability and willingness to appear in courts throughout the DFW Metroplex. Juvenile defense experience is strongly preferred. Past jury trial experience is required. Manage assigned criminal and juvenile matters from assignment through final disposition. Review police reports, body camera and dash camera video, witness statements, forensic evidence, electronic evidence, and other discovery. Conduct comprehensive case evaluations and develop individualized defense strategies. Identify constitutional, evidentiary, procedural, factual, and mitigation issues. Advise clients regarding charges, potential consequences, defenses, options, risks, and strategy. Prepare clients for court appearances, negotiations, hearings, depositions when applicable, and trials. Appear in courts throughout Collin County, Denton County, and the greater DFW Metroplex. Handle misdemeanor and felony criminal matters and juvenile defense matters. Negotiate effectively and professionally with prosecutors. Research, prepare, file, and litigate appropriate motions. Handle contested hearings, including suppression and evidentiary matters when appropriate. Prepare cases thoroughly for jury trial and conduct jury trials when necessary. Maintain complete, accurate, and timely case notes, calendaring, documentation, and task management. Work closely with assigned paralegals and legal assistants to move cases efficiently and strategically toward resolution. Proactively communicate with clients regarding developments, strategy, expectations, and next steps.
