at Robert Half in Portland, Maine, United States Job Description Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Administrator to support legal operations in Portland, Maine. This is a Contract position for someone who can keep documentation organized, coordinate deadlines, and help maintain smooth day-to-day case support. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with court-related processes, digital filing systems, and scheduling tools in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate legal records and organize case documentation for easy retrieval and compliance.
- Prepare, submit, and track electronic filings and other court-related documents within required deadlines.
- Support attorneys and legal staff by updating matters in case management systems and keeping file information current.
- Coordinate calendars for hearings, meetings, and filing deadlines to help prevent scheduling conflicts.
- Monitor case activity and follow up on outstanding items to keep legal matters moving efficiently.
- Review documents for completeness, formatting, and procedural accuracy before submission.
- Assist with administrative legal support tasks that contribute to efficient daily department operations. Requirements
- Experience handling legal files and maintaining organized documentation with strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of e-filing procedures and court filing practices.
- Familiarity with case management software used to track legal matters and related records.
- Ability to manage calendars, deadlines, and competing priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with legal teams and external contacts.
