Legal Analyst (OFRA #10119086) State of New Mexico - 3.5 Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time $24.88 - $37.32 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Business planning Full Job Description Posting Details The Office of Family Representation and Advocacy (OFRA) is a State Executive Agency that exists to provide high-quality legal representation and advocacy for children and parents, guardians, and custodians in child abuse and neglect cases. The agency is in the process of creating the positions necessary to fulfill its statutory requirements and implement its strategic plan.

Why does the job exist? This job exists to support the development and execution of effective administrative processes within OFRA's Legal Services Division. The incumbent provides centralized legal, case intake and management, administrative, and communications support to the Legal Services Division Director to ensure effective and timely coordination of critical business processes necessary for high-quality legal representation. While engaging in the key responsibilities listed below, the incumbent will be responsible for analyzing current practices to recommend changes that improve efficiency and reduce redundancy, organizing systems to improve attorney access to legal research and documents, and support training and onboarding of new legal service division administrative staff to ensure continuity and seamless business practices. Overall, this position supports smooth operational workflows, timely communication with internal and external partners, and consistent administrative support across the legal team. How does it get done?
Duties for this position include:
Lead the agency case intake process, including review and management of legal documents and other supporting documents Lead the case assignment process, including performing conflicts checks in the court statewide online case management system and the drafting of case assignment emails Organize and maintain the attorney only document repository site to ensure legal resources are current, relevant, and well-organized Support new staff attorneys in registering for and accessing available legal research tools Assist with bulk case reassignments, as needed, to support the continuity of legal representation Support the legal admin team by providing back up assistance, as needed - including monitoring, responding to inquiries email inbox, and taking initial complaints from clients and other stakeholders Provide general administrative support to the legal division director and others in the legal division, as requested Calendar onboarding trainings for newly hired legal division attorneys and staff, attorney lunch-and-learns, and other team meetings and events Who are the customers? Legal Division staff and contractors who are assigned to handle cases or provide support to OFRAs clients. Ideal Candidate Legal Division staff and contractors who are assigned to handle cases or provide support to OFRAs clients. Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
