They identify, recommend and/or implement systems to minimize loss of Company assets and information. LP employees have many duties and responsibilities that are important to prevent the Company from loss, but also to keep the member shopping experience safe. Responsibilities Monitor Costco areas for unusual activity and potential threats. Monitor security systems like alarms and closed-circuit cameras. Identify potential thieves from customers or staff. Follow and confront a potential person of interest who is suspected of shoplifting. Document theft and other violations of security. Work with law enforcement to detain suspects. Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred, security training preferred. Licenses/Certifications - As required by state. Loss Prevention or Security experience preferred. Communication, observation, problem-solving skills required. Able to attend court dates to testify. Essential Functions Phone, computer, motor vehicle, closed circuit television system, Digital Playback system, copier, fax, camera.
