Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, qualified Civil / Commercial Litigation Assistant /Paralegal to provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to a busy litigation practice. This position requires substantial experience in civil litigation within Arizona courts and strong proficiency in court rules, e-filing systems, and document management.
Responsibilities Court Filings & Rules:
Manage e-filings across state and federal systems; research and analyze federal, state, and local court rules.
Calendaring & Scheduling:
Diligently schedule and track court appearances, depositions, filing dates, and critical litigation deadlines in accordance with applicable rules.
Document Preparation:
Prepare correspondence, notices, subpoenas, exhibits, basic pleadings, and motions, ensuring careful proofreading of attorney work product.
Discovery & Trial Support:
Assist in organizing, indexing, and managing discovery materials, document productions, and trial binders.
Communication & Coordination:
Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, opposing counsel, process servers, and vendors.
Practice Administration:
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, maintain electronic file structures, and answer incoming phone calls.
Skills/Experience Experience:
3-5+ years as a litigation secretary or legal assistant (commercial/civil litigation experience preferred).
E-Filing Proficiency:
Demonstrated expertise with AZTurboCourt, eFileAZ, PACER, and CM/ECF.
Court Rules:
Strong knowledge of the Arizona and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, as well as the Arizona Rules of Civil Appellate Procedure.
Software & Tech:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and cloud platforms (Dropbox preferred).
Core Skills:
Excellent organizational abilities, sharp proofreading skills, high discretion with sensitive client information, and a collaborative team mindset. Compensation commensurate with qualifications.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
