Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. Duties Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case development across various practice areas such as civil litigation, personal injury, workers' compensation, and land use law. Prepare and review legal documents including pleadings, contracts, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail. Manage case files and document review using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate and organized records. Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases involving family law, personal injury, or estate planning. Support project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, filings, and court appearances while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Draft legal memos, summaries, and reports that clearly articulate findings and recommendations for attorneys' review. Handle administrative responsibilities such as data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and scheduling to facilitate efficient office operations. Communicate effectively with clients regarding case status updates and procedural questions while demonstrating professionalism and empathy. Conduct legal research on procedural laws across jurisdictions to ensure compliance with court requirements in litigation matters. Qualifications Proven paralegal experience or legal support experience in diverse practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, or civil litigation support. Strong knowledge of procedural law and familiarity with litigation processes from case inception through resolution. Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with Westlaw is highly preferred. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy. Skilled in document drafting, proofreading, and legal writing that meets professional standards. Experience using document management systems like iManage or PCLaw for efficient case file handling. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly and ethically at all times. Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration within a team environment. Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with familiarity with legal case management software. Ability to perform detailed research on complex topics such as tribal regulations or patent laws when required.
