The ideal candidate for this position has strong experience in family law, preparing legal documents, working with clients, and preparing the case and attorneys for trial. Compensation:
$57,000 - $65,000 yearly plus bonuses
Responsibilities:
Ensure that all tasks are performed and deadlines met. Keep the case on track and moving at all times. Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as Petition packages with Disclosures, Request for Orders/motions, all aspects of discovery (propound and respond), subpoenas, all trial documents including briefs, witness and exhibit lists, and judgments, under the supervision of a lawyer. Communicate and work closely with Clients to gather information and documents, and to provide them with regular updates on their case. Be highly computer literate. We are a modern firm that does not use paper files except for trial binders. We use Smokeball, and need someone who is extremely comfortable learning and working with two or three monitors at a time. Comfortable and diligent in tracking time spent. Ability to supervise and lead their assigned legal assistant. Skills and experience are vital, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important. We have a zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional behavior that applies to Clients as well as Employees. High-maintenance, humorless, self-entitled, or self-important individuals need not apply.
Qualifications:
3+ years of family law service experience. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
