A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing abstracts of medical records
- Interviewing examinees and completing historical and comprehensive narrative of the examinee's injury, treatment and present complaints.
- Attending examinations with physician ensuring all medical legal issues requested by the client are addressed.
- Assisting in completion of medical report with physician. Experience
- Must have experience in Medical-Legal Disability reporting
- Must have a thorough understanding of AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Disability, 5th edition
- Must understand the concept of apportionment and causation
- Must be well-versed in anatomic and medical terminology
- Experience in Orthopedics and Pain Management preferred Requirements
- Ability to interact professionally with attorneys and insurance adjusters
- Must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound independent judgment, initiative and high standard of ethics.
- Excellent interviewing and social skills
- Excellent reading, comprehension, grammar and writing skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow up on assignments independently
- Intermediate or higher skill level in Microsoft Word
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Spanish bilingual is a plus, but not essential
- Must possess MacBook This is a Part- Time contractor position.
