Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to join our team at Immigration Counsel PLLC. This position will primarily focus on Immigration Court matters and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both Spanish and English and comfortable providing interpretation services for clients when needed.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of Immigration Court matters, including I-589 applications, EOIR-42A/42B applications, I-601 waivers, I-485 applications, and other forms of relief . Gather and organize supporting documentation and conduct country conditions research for client cases. Prepare and submit
EOIR FOIA
requests and review records received from government agencies. Conduct client and witness interviews and assist with preparing affidavits and declarations . Assist attorneys with preparing simple and complex motions before the Immigration Court. Prepare exhibit lists and organize exhibit packets for individual and other court hearings . Complete ECAS electronic filings for cases eligible for e-filing. Provide Spanish-English interpretation for clients as needed, including during individual hearing preparation . Maintain and update case-management systems and case files. Communicate directly with clients by telephone and email regarding case matters and requests for documentation. Schedule client appointments, monitor hearing dates, and maintain case deadlines and calendars. Coordinate with the Legal Assistant Team to ensure filings and correspondence are properly prepared and delivered. Develop effective working relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients. Serve as a second legal assistant when needed , including answering calls, assisting with mailings, and providing general office support. Perform other case-related and administrative duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Fluent in Spanish and English , including reading, writing, speaking, and the ability to provide interpretation services. Minimum of 1 year of experience working in immigration law , preferably with Immigration Court matters. Familiarity with Immigration Court procedures and filings . High School Diploma/GED required; additional education or paralegal training preferred. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional and compassionate approach to working with clients. Ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case-management software. Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
