A successful candidate will provide support for a team of six or more attorneys and will be the face of the firm and potential clients' first exposure to our office. This critical role involves extensive contact with potential and current clients (primarily via phone and Zoom/Teams), participation in initial consultations, and helping individuals in crisis This firm offers great benefits. Firm:
This Firm is a nationally recognized civil rights and employment and labor law firm located in downtown Washington, D.C. We handle fast-paced and exciting litigation on behalf of federal employees around the country, as well as private-sector workers in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Many of our cases challenge employment harassment, whistleblower reprisal, wrongful termination, and other unjust employment practices. Firm also provides counsel to small employers. We seek a dynamic new team member who shares our commitment to civil rights.
Status:
Temp to Hire, 9:00-5:30 in office (Dupont Circle Metro Stop)
Salary:
$25.00
  • 27.00 hourly
  • Hiring salary $55,000.00
  • 63,000.00 DOE
  • LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for individuals who are seeking legal representation from the firm; Collaborate with a team of 6+ attorneys in fast-paced litigation firm; Conduct preliminary factual investigation into whether prospective clients' claims have merit; Conduct potential client intakes, gather and review client materials, and brief attorneys on potential clients' claims; Management of the online intake application portal, including initial screening of online intake applications; Draft engagement letters; Monitor external phone, mail, and email communications to the firm; follow up as appropriate.
Onboard new clients by filling out necessary paperwork and putting together initial case files; Enter client information into computer systems; Perform document management, including creating and maintaining litigation databases; Organize and write synopses of clients' factual materials; prepare, organize, and index administrative records. Assist with client billing and administration Social media Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience with client or customer relationships; Excellent communication skills Ability to interview potential clients and summarize their concerns; Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office 365 software environment and Adobe Acrobat Pro; Attention to detail; Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines, including promptly responding to communications from clients and attorneys; Ability to track multiple projects and taskings. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who possess the following: Bachelor's degree or other post-secondary education; Substantive legal assistant and/or client intake experience;
