We need a Legal Assistant! The Legal Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to attorneys, paralegals, and the legal team. This role is responsible for organizing files, managing documents, coordinating client communications, and handling day-to-day tasks that keep legal cases moving smoothly. The Legal Assistant plays a key supporting role in maintaining an organized, efficient, and client-focused practice area.
DUTIES:
Organize and maintain physical and electronic client files, ensuring all documents are properly labeled, scanned, and stored. Assist with the preparation, formatting, and assembly of legal documents under the direction of attorneys and paralegals. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including phone, mail, emails, and other client communications. Schedule appointments, client meetings, and court-related deadlines. Perform data entry, document scanning, copying, and filing tasks with a high level of accuracy. Support client intake by gathering initial information and documentation. Coordinate with clients to obtain required forms, signatures, and additional information. Assist the team with general office tasks such as ordering supplies, maintaining forms, and keeping practice area resources organized. Help monitor case deadlines and follow up on outstanding items as directed. Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism in all firm activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience :
0 - 1+ years of administrative or legal support experience is preferred. Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus.
Technical Skills :
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and comfortable learning case management software.
Organizational Skills :
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
Personal Attributes :
Reliable, proactive, and client-oriented with a positive, collaborative "non-stuffy" approach. Good written and verbal communication skills. Lastly, you're just a darn good person.
Compensation and Benefits:
This job starts at minimum $17 per hour, depending on experience Discretionary bonuses based on personal performance and firm profitability Leave early on Friday if production goals are met Relaxed atmosphere and dress code Unlimited PTO after one year In house training programs Semi-Weekly paid meals for the whole office Free snacks and drinks for the office staff
