Role:
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Closing Paralegal to join our established law firm and affiliated title company. This position is responsible for coordinating residential real estate transactions from the execution of the purchase contract through recording and final title policy issuance. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple files while providing exceptional service to clients and industry partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee residential real estate transactions from file opening through post-closing completion. Serve as the primary point of contact for buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other parties involved in each transaction. Draft, review, and finalize closing documentation, including Closing Disclosures, ALTA Settlement Statements, deeds, affidavits, and related legal documents. Order, monitor, and evaluate title searches, surveys, municipal lien searches, HOA and condominium estoppels, mortgage payoff statements, and other required closing items. Analyze title commitments, identify title issues, and coordinate the resolution of outstanding matters before closing. Schedule closings, monitor contractual deadlines, and keep all parties informed throughout the transaction process. Complete post-closing activities, including recording documents, coordinating fund disbursements, and preparing final title policies. Assist with additional real estate and creditor rights matters, including foreclosure files, as workload and business needs require. Qualifications Previous experience independently managing residential real estate closings from contract through post-closing is required. Demonstrated ability to handle a high-volume pipeline while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional client-service approach. Ability to prioritize multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Experience reviewing title commitments, title exceptions, and related closing documentation. Familiarity with ATIDS and DoubleTime is a plus but is not required.
