A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Full time position for busy law office. Criminal Defense. Personal Injury. Looking for a "hands-on" motivated individual. Prior experience working in a law firm
IS REQUIRED.
If you do not have the ability to understand and execute when given instructions. This position will require flexibility as to job duties, ranging from answering phones, maintaining attorney's calendar, drafting and filing simple court pleadings from templates, and ability to confidently speak with members of the legal community (other attorneys, prosecutors, judicial assistants). Duties include Proactive management of the attorney's caseload and calendar; Assisting with drafting correspondence and legal documents; Assisting with legal research; E-Filing; Scheduling meditations, depositions, and hearings; and Answering phones. Attention to detail, ability to problem solve, and ability to follow directions as given are requirements of the job. It is further expected that you will be able to work independently and meet deadlines without the need for supervision and reminders to accomplish tasks. We do encourage you to ask questions if you do not understand a task, however. We are not seeking an employee that needs to be micro-managed to timely accomplish tasks.
