REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL / CLOSING ASSISTANT
Daytona Beach Area Law Firm A well-established Daytona Beach area law firm is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal / Closing Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Florida residential and/or commercial real estate transactions and be capable of managing a high-volume closing practice from contract to post-closing. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their files, communicates well with clients and professionals, and can work independently while being part of a team. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of real estate transactions, including: Manage real estate files from opening through closing and post-closing. Review purchase and sale contracts and coordinate transaction requirements and deadlines. Examine title commitments and work to clear title requirements, exceptions, liens, judgments, and other title issues. Review and comply with lender closing instructions and coordinate with lenders, mortgage brokers, and other closing professionals. Communicate consistently and professionally with clients, Realtors, lenders, mortgage brokers, title underwriters, surveyors, insurance agents, and other transaction parties. Order, review, and coordinate surveys, title documents, estoppels, lien searches, payoff statements, and other closing requirements. Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of closing statements, settlement statements, deeds, affidavits, escrow agreements, prorations, and other closing documents. Coordinate and conduct real estate closings, when applicable Conduct detailed file reviews before, during, and after closing to identify and resolve potential title, escrow, documentation, or compliance issues. Coordinate post-closing requirements, including recording documents, issuing title policies, and completing file documentation. Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical files. Assist attorneys with other real estate matters as needed. Additional Legal Support The position may also provide paralegal and administrative support in other areas of the firm's practice, including: Foreclosures Evictions Civil litigation Probate and estate administration Other real estate and general legal matters Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate will have: 2-3+ years of experience in Florida title insurance, real estate transaction processing, and/or real estate closings. Strong knowledge of Florida real estate closing and title procedures. Experience reviewing title commitments and clearing title requirements. Familiarity with lender closing requirements and loan closing procedures. Experience preparing and reviewing closing documents and settlement statements. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office . Experience with Closer's Choice or similar title/closing software preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a high-volume environment. Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned files, and identify issues before they become problems. Professional, positive, and client-focused attitude. Strong team-player mentality. Prior Florida real estate closing/title experience is strongly preferred. Full-time position. Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
