Job Description We are looking for a detail-focused Legal Assistant to support a busy law firm. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can balance administrative coordination, document preparation, and deadline-driven legal support in an organized setting. The role calls for strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to keep attorneys and staff organized in a fast-paced legal environment. Responsibilities: Draft, revise, and polish legal documents, letters, and other written materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clear presentation. Coordinate attorney schedules by arranging meetings, tracking court-related commitments, and helping manage critical deadlines. Organize and maintain both digital and hard-copy records so files remain current, accessible, and properly stored. Prepare supporting materials, packets, and documentation needed for matters, meetings, and legal proceedings. Handle substantial word processing, filing, and document control tasks while maintaining a high level of precision. Support electronic file management activities, including work within NetDocuments when applicable. Communicate with attorneys, internal staff, clients, and outside contacts in a courteous and service-oriented manner. Safeguard confidential information and exercise sound discretion when working with sensitive legal and client materials. Provide general administrative assistance to help the legal team operate efficiently from day to day. At least 2 years of recent administrative experience, with prior exposure to a legal setting considered an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate correspondence. Demonstrated ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and meet time-sensitive deadlines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling documents, scheduling, and file maintenance. Ability to work with confidential information in a discreet and careful manner. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams in a business environment. Familiarity with NetDocuments or similar electronic document management systems is preferred. Typing speed of 55+ WPM and a dependable, team-focused work style.
