The ideal candidate will have prior law firm experience, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment. The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and provide support throughout all stages of case preparation and management while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Assist attorneys with day-to-day case management and preparation. Draft, prepare, format, proofread, and revise legal documents, pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and other case-related materials. Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files. Monitor court dates, filing deadlines, hearings, depositions, and other important case milestones. Prepare and electronically file documents with applicable courts and agencies. Assist with discovery, including gathering, reviewing, organizing, and producing documents. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, witnesses, experts, and other parties. Schedule meetings, court appearances, depositions, client conferences, and other appointments. Conduct legal and factual research as directed by attorneys. Prepare case summaries, chronologies, exhibits, and materials for attorney review. Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials. Maintain attorney calendars and ensure deadlines and follow-up items are completed timely. Handle confidential and sensitive client information with discretion. Provide general administrative and legal support as needed. Qualifications Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar legal support professional strongly preferred. Prior experience working within a law firm environment preferred. Knowledge of Illinois court procedures and electronic filing systems is a plus. Experience preparing legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading ability. Ability to prioritize multiple cases, projects, and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with legal case management, document management, or research software is a plus. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff. Professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining strict client confidentiality. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be dependable, organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of assignments. This individual should be able to anticipate attorney needs, maintain accurate case files and calendars, communicate professionally with clients, and remain composed while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Pay:
