Legal Assistant Job Responsibilities:

Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and staff

Review, log, and track cases, appeals, deadlines, and hearings

Maintain electronic and paper case files and tracking logs

Track court dates, orders, reports, and other case requirements

Coordinate scheduling with attorneys, courts, witnesses, and other parties

Assist with records requests by locating documents, calculating fees, and preparing correspondence

Draft and proofread legal documents and correspondence

Maintain calendars and schedule meetings

Handle mail and general office tasks

Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy requirements

Qualifications:
Legal Assistant Job Qualifications:

2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, Legal Secretary, or similar role

Associate degree in Legal Assisting, completion of a 60-hour Legal Assistant program, or bachelor's degree with relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered

Legal knowledge or law office experience preferred

Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Strong ability to review and organize information

Valid, unrestricted driver's license required; travel is not required during the temporary assignment

Must be able to pass a background and fingerprint check
