Job Description

Paralegal The Fountain Group Wichita, KS 67207 The Fountain Group has an immediate opening for a Paralegal . This Paralegal will be responsible for the prompt, accurate and efficient auditing of electronically submitted legal fee and expense invoices submitted by law firms and vendors of our clients. The ideal Paralegal candidate will have experience with legal billing processes, strong attention to detail, and the ability to analyze legal invoice entries while applying sound judgment and decision-making skills. •
REQUIRED EDUCATION
(MUST HAVE) •Paralegal certification, associate degree or bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities:
Efficiently and accurately review legal invoice entries submitted by law firms and vendors. Audit legal fee and expense invoices to ensure compliance with applicable billing guidelines. Review invoice line items and identify entries that violate billing guidelines. Make adjustments to invoice line items when necessary and document the reason for each adjustment. Provide detailed justification for billing adjustments, including the guideline violation and rationale for the amount adjusted. Verify accuracy of UTBMS task codes, including Fee, Activity, and Expense codes applied to invoice line items. Receive legal invoice assignments from the Operations Support Specialist and/or manage assigned invoice review queues. Forward audited legal bills through the appropriate review process. Communicate and collaborate with Legal Invoice Analysts and Quality Assurance Analyst team members. Provide guidance to business unit partners regarding issues, trends, and opportunities within the Legal Bill Analysis process. Review, analyze, and evaluate complex legal fee and expense invoice entries while exercising discretion and sound judgment. Maintain organized documentation and complete invoice reviews efficiently within required timelines.
Required Qualifications:
Paralegal Certification, Bachelor's Degree in a legal-related discipline, or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years of experience in a legal services, legal operations, or legal auditing environment. Experience with legal billing processes. Strong understanding of legal terminology and claims-related legal situations. Understanding of federal and/or state rules of civil procedure preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and make independent decisions. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision after training. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate professionally. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Experience reviewing legal invoices or performing legal billing audits. Multi-jurisdictional legal exposure preferred. Experience working with electronic legal bill submission and auditing software. Ability to quickly learn new technology platforms and processes.
Technical Skills:
