Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Certified Paralegal to join our team in Lake Charles, LA!
SCOPE :
Assists attorney in all aspects of case management. Maintains communication with clients regularly. Provides clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking.
JOB DUTIES
Gather/analyze intake information & relevant documents associated with new files and enter into case management software to open a case Initiate claims, verify coverage, maintain communication with insurance adjusters Maintains regular communication with all clients Prepare documents and correspondence such as letters of representation, demand letters, billing inquiries, etc. Collect documentation of all damage sustained such as medical records Assists in drafting legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files. Develops and maintains Attorney calendar
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of legal assistant experience required Paralegal certification a plus Knowledge of personal injury preferred, but not required Experience calendaring in Outlook Highly organized with attention to detail Must be capable of working in a high volume work environment Check out our perks!
