Job Description A small law office in Worcester County is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Entry-Level Paralegal to provide part-time legal and administrative support. This position is ideal for a current paralegal or legal studies student, recent graduate, or someone beginning a career in the legal field who is interested in gaining practical, hands-on experience working in a law office. Prior law-office experience is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. The position will generally be scheduled from approximately 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, four to five weekdays per week , with some flexibility.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Preparing and organizing legal documents, correspondence, and client files Assisting with drafting routine letters, pleadings, forms, and other legal documents Maintaining and organizing electronic and paper case files Communicating professionally with clients, courts, attorneys, and other offices Assisting with court and administrative filings Performing basic legal and factual research Scheduling appointments, deadlines, and other case-related matters Reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy Scanning, copying, filing, and maintaining office records Providing general administrative support to the attorney Assisting with other legal matters and office projects as needed Qualifications The ideal candidate will be: Dependable, punctual, and professional Highly organized and detail-oriented Able to follow instructions and work independently Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Professional in written and verbal communications Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Word, PDFs, and electronic documents Able to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive client information Interested in learning about the day-to-day practice of law Prior legal experience is helpful but not required . Current students enrolled in a paralegal, legal studies, criminal justice, pre-law, or related program and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. What This Position Offers This position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience working directly in a law office and develop real-world skills in: Legal document preparation Client communication Case and file organization Legal and factual research Court and administrative procedures Deadline management Professional office practices The afternoon schedule may be particularly well suited for a college or paralegal student who attends classes earlier in the day. Schedule Part-time Approximately 15 hours per week Generally 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM 4-5 weekdays per week Some scheduling flexibility may be available Compensation Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
