About the Opportunity Miller Johnson is looking for a Temporary Administrative Assistant based in our Grand Rapids Office. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to start their career in legal support and grow in their career. This role provides dedicated administrative and operational support to the Legal Support team through practice-group-related tasks, projects, and day-to-day administrative assistance. This role primarily supports Legal Administrative Assistants (LAAs) and practice group operations through project-based work, workflow support, and administrative task coordination. What You Will Do As a Temporary Administrative Assistant you will: Assist with scanning, filing, and organizing documents in both electronic and paper formats Proofread documents as needed, including time entries and basic legal materials Assist in preparing simple documents such as engagement letters, conflict waivers, binders, and administrative forms Support scheduling, calendaring, and general administrative coordination through proactive assistance Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries for assigned practice groups or teams Support meeting preparation, conference room setup, hospitality coordination, and event-related logistics as needed Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate information across firm systems and databases Assist with document saving, profiling, and organization within the firm's document management system Complete administrative, operational, and project-based assignments delegated by Legal Support team members Provide overflow support across practice groups and Legal Support teams as workload needs arise Maintain organization and prioritization across multiple assignments, deadlines, and practice areas Demonstrate responsiveness, adaptability, and professionalism while supporting evolving operational and administrative needs Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications include: High School diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in customer service or office support role preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to organize large amounts of information and manage multiple tasks with varying priorities Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic Displays strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy Takes initiative and demonstrates an eagerness to learn Works effectively both independently and as a part of a team Handles information with discretion and maintains confidentiality Builds positive working relationships through collaboration and communication We are committed to fostering an exceptional work experience that includes a healthy work-life balance and an inclusive culture that values uniquely talented team members.
